Also known as ‘Little Paris’ is quite a nice city except for the traffic. Traffic to the city centre is horrendous! It reminds me of the traffic back in KL.
I didnt really get the chance to see the city as we were not staying in town. By the time we finish work, it is already all dark. Local colleagues were very nice to take us to the city and drove around the town to show us the places of interest. Some interesting facts about Bucharest/ Romania:
- The world 2nd largest administration building is located in Bucharest. It’s called ‘Palace of the Parliament’. It’s really amazing! Read more at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palace_of_the_Parliament
- Dracula by Bram Stoker was written based on a very famous Romanian Prince. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Count_Dracula)
- Romania only became a Republic country in 1990.
I will definitely go back and visit Romania for holiday. But I will only go during the summer… it’s too cold during winter. Apparently the temperature can go down to -40!!
